We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team, based in Pasadena, Texas. This role involves overseeing our accounting operations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
• Issue timely and complete financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft NAV
• Experience in performing account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations
• Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of project cost accounting would be advantageous
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial reports
• Familiarity with financial regulations, i.e., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
