Responsibilities:

As an IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator (Part Time) you will have the opportunity to do the following: Database Management: Manage IDMS databases, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security.
  • System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch updates and configuration changes.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols.
  • Capacity Planning: Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years' experience as an IDMS Database Administrator with broad experience with legacy versions of Mainframe Server platforms.
  • Experience and certification with COBOL a plus.
  • DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • CompTIA Security + certification.
Pay Transparency Statement:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $78,100.00/Yr. - USD $164,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
