Systems Engineer
Overview:
Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Systems Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Engineers, installs, maintains, configures and optimizes Microsoft server operating systems.
- Manages virtualized environments.
- Provision and manages virtual machines.
- Manages and configures VDI environments.
- Configures and maintains network services such as DNS ad DHCP
- Knowledge in creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs).
- Performs daily system monitoring, verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviews system and application logs, and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Works with internal and external IT teams to coordinate changes, implementations, and maintenances for network and security configurations
- Supports the administration of Microsoft SQL databases.
- Develops and implements security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats
- Applies STIGs to IT systems and document results.
- Reviews STIG checklists developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
- Develops RMF security policy and procedures documents.
Qualifications:
Clearance Required: TS/SCIDegree and Years of Experience: 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD
Required Certifications:
- 8140/8570 IAT Level III is required for this position.
Desired Certifications:
- VMware certifications (such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX) are highly desirable.
- MCSE certification or other Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
- Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with a deep understanding of VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi).
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
- Experience with designing and implementing Vmware virtual infrastructure solutions, including scalability and high availability considerations.
- Experience with standing up ESXi hosts, various versions, AD integrations, time, and DNS services.
- Experience in the administration of Microsoft Active Directory (create user accounts, manage groups/permissions/access)
- Experience in the administration of Microsoft databases (log shipping, event management, cluster management)
- Experience with system administration and network administration
- Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of network and host hardening.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Linux is desirable.
- Knowledge of Splunk
- Knowledge of Trellix and Tenable security and vulnerability products
