Director of Accounting and Finance

Reporting to the CFO of the U.S. operations of a global, privately held international organization, you will have overall responsibility for all accounting related activities and reporting. This includes functional accounting areas; oversight of the general ledger; timely financial reporting and analysis; budgeting and forecasting; financial metrics; operations and inventory accounting; audit and tax compliance and special projects.
The position also provides direction to plant accounting personnel and interacts with various plant and corporate management, especially in the areas of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
The ability to partner with the CFO and plant management relative to business strategic planning, execution and control will be critical. A high degree of analytical ability will be required to provide clear and concise analysis of financial results and key financial measurements driving the business' results, including explanations of variances between plan, prior year, and forecasts.You will also be responsible for developing and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls, including coordination with internal and external auditors.
Requirements:
This position will require an individual who is a hands-on self-starter who has a desire to grow professionally. This position interacts with numerous individuals throughout the organization so excellent communications skills are imperative. Position requirements include:
- BS Degree in Accounting/Finance. MBA or CPA a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years accounting/finance experience and with at least 10 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of both financial and operational systems, including inventory and cost accounting. Analytical skills needed in both finance and operations to provide guidance in management decisions.
- Recent direct experience with ERP systems and strong understanding of various applications. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and ERP systems required. SAP or Sage experience a plus.
- Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization.
- Process improvement mindset and experience.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial managers.
