This reports to a Director of Accounting and manages a Senior Accountant and works on a sizeable team.
Responsibilities- Assist in overall financial operations and financial management of the institution, which includes budgeting, fiscal operations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations relevant to financial reports and audits; prepare audit work papers and schedules for external auditors.
- Prepare various financial reports and perform financial analysis as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure sound fiscal management.
- Oversee the work of assigned staff, provide training and coaching to improve performance and productivity.
- Utilize and manage the institution's financial system, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve financial related issues and inquiries.

- Handle general accounting including operational accounting, grants, month end, g/l
- Degree in Accounting or Finance/relevant field
- 6+ years of accounting experience with experience in nonprofit or higher ed
