Move For Hunger is seeking a part-time administrative assistant up to 18-20 hours per week to work out of our office/warehouse in Neptune, NJ, this position is not eligible for remote/telework. We are looking for an extremely organized and detail-oriented individual.
Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damage to inventory. The Logistics Specialist will also work with episodic volunteer support in the shipping and receiving department, and other duties as assigned.

This person will have to be able to lift 40lbs. This position will report directly to the COO and the Events Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Managing processes through Salesforce database, and assisting with database tracking, entry, and management;
  • Provide “white-glove” customer service to individuals and organizations receiving shipped items from Move For Hunger;
  • Manage inventory and ordering for shop and event collateral, bag inventory, and other supplies as directed by leadership;
Shipping/Receiving
  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the company;
  • Maintain the stockroom through organizing, cleaning and cataloging items on a regular basis; by placing merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, and pallet jacks for large goods;
  • Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff or volunteers on hand to manage the shipments;
  • Maintain files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers;
  • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the team with any other administrative tasks or projects as needed;
  • On occasion attend or represent Move For Hunger at in-person local events;
  • Assist with the on-site Volunteer Days, managing the activities and engaging with the volunteers as the face of Move For Hunger.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Self-starter with a desire to work in a warehouse environment
  • Articulate written and verbal communication when working with team members, internal support, and potential partners
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Meticulous attention to detail & follow through
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Lifting and carrying 40 pounds
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Experience with Salesforce or a CRM is a bonus!

Benefits

Part Time position, ineligible for benefits. Salary base starts at $18.00 per hour. Scheduled in-office at the Neptune City, New Jersey office starting at 18 hours with a maximum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday during business hours.
