Assistant Controller Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist will all aspects of accounting;, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
  • Manage all payments made for debts, bank loans, and other large quantities of money
  • Monitor cash and funding balances
  • Assist in review and analyze quarterly/annual financial reports
  • Advise on financial analyses and decision-making matters with management
  • Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors
  • Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting
  • Managing all aspects of the General Ledger
  • Assisting in the annual budgeting process
  • Ensuring company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
  • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Knowledge in ERP Solutions
  • Ability to handle Great Plains (GPAC) software
  • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
  • Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Skills in Auditing
  • Familiarity with Budget ProcessesAssistant Controller Job Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
  • Ideal candidate has 4 to 6 years of experience in field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license recommended
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite - experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Financial platform a plus; Access, database, or other system knowledge
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, & budgeting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team
