Responsibilities:
Linda M. Villarreal & Associates, a growing staff counsel program for State Farm Mutual Automobile Company, is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their team in Houston, Texas. We hire the best employees to serve our customers, making us a leader in the insurance and financial services industry.Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced electronic environment.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to calendaring/scheduling for multiple attorneys, electronic filing with the courts, pulling docket control orders, and routine legal correspondence. This is a hybrid role working Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of recent civil defense litigation secretarial experience, preferably in an Insurance Defense environment
- Familiarity with rules and procedures of District Clerks and knowledge of service and filing requirements is necessary
- Experience with E-filing with Texas Court system
- Proficiency in software technology, tools, and case management system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
