Property Accountant

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Property Accountant in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry, located in the San Fernando Valley. This role will focus on reviewing property leases, preparing and delivering CAM reconciliation statements, managing tenant billing and disputes, and ensuring all transactions comply with lease agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Review property leases to accurately determine Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges.
• Prepare and review annual CAM reconciliation statements for tenants.
• Ensure timely delivery of CAM reconciliation statements to tenants.
• Process CAM charges billing accurately and ensure prompt delivery to clients.
• Work with property managers to resolve any tenant billing disputes or inquiries.
• Reconcile client accounts and handle any billing discrepancies.
• Compile and maintain necessary supporting documents for CAM calculations.
• Ensure all transactions are in compliance with the lease agreements.
• Participate in team meetings to provide updates on progress and address potential issues.
• Utilize the Yardi Voyager system for various tasks.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a Property Accountant role or similar within the Real Estate or Facilities Management industry
• Proficient in the use of Yardi Voyager software
• Demonstrable experience with CAM Reconciliation
• Solid understanding and experience of handling Lease Agreements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
