Part-time Patient Access Specialist
Robert Half Healthcare Practice is excited to collaborate with a prominent healthcare company in the Evansville, Indiana area, to secure a Part-time Patient Access Representative. The responsibilities of this position will include registering patients, managing appointments, entering patient information into Epic system, providing important information to insurance companies, relaying information between patients and hospital staff, managing referrals, scheduling, and providing patient financial counseling.
Hours: Saturdays, 8:30am - 5pm *Can pick up additional shifts depending on availability
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Process patient registrations accurately, collecting necessary documents such as insurance cards, photo IDs, and medical orders.
- Respond to routine requests for information or service, guiding patients and visitors to their respective locations as needed.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling and registering on the same day as per the established procedures.
- Maintain and update patient records in the computer system, ensuring the information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Understand and comply with all HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures.
- Assist patients who may have difficulty ambulating and completing forms.
- Take responsibility for answering office phones, directing calls appropriately while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Ensure the work area is kept in a neat and orderly manner.
- Handle incoming mail for the office, sorting it accordingly.
- Perform any other related duties as necessary or instructed.
The ideal candidate for this role must have experience in the medical field, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong computer and technical skills, high school diploma, and experience with Epic system preferred.
