SUMMARY: The role of the EHS Coordinator is to provide daily on-site Safety and Environmental Compliance support to the MSR-FSR Critical Component Solutions Operations facility to ensure protection of people, property and the environment following established processes and fostering cooperative relationships with site leadership and workforce.

Operations involve the use of hazardous chemicals, so occasional use of a respirator and an aptitude for chemical safety is important.

JOB DESCRIPTION: EHS Program Support

  • Provide EHS program coordination, consultation, and coaching during start-up and site ramp
activities
  • Engage with Applied EHS for EHS requirements and program alignment
  • Understand Customer EHS requirements and country/local EHS regulations and communicate any impact to customers site operations
  • Engage with support trades, account team, and customer for alignment on EHS requirements
Inspections, Audits, and Evaluations
  • Perform and document daily inspections to assess site safety conditions, compliance with EHS
program requirements, and compliance with Customer EHS requirements.
  • Track and audit completion of Pre-Task Plans (PTP), Safety Walk Around Audits (SWAs),
Customer Support Safety Requirements (CSSR), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) audits, weekly.
Track any associated findings or open items to closure.
  • Perform ergonomic and lifting evaluations in support of non-office ergonomic risk reduction
  • Support the investigation, correction, and closure of any non-conformances or open items
  • Support Safety Statement/Risk Assessment report, as required by local regulations
Reporting and Meetings
  • Notify EHS and Ramp Manager of any audit finds or other items requiring corrective action
daily.
  • Track and prepare weekly reports of inspections, findings, audits, and evaluations
  • Track and prepare weekly reports of EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Support incident reporting and the completion of investigations and corrective actions
  • Track and prepare weekly summaries of incident and hazard reports
  • Prepare and present safety updates monthly at All Hands Meetings: KPIs, incident and hazard
report status, Good Catches, lessons learned, key EHS programs, Customer EHS
requirements, etc.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports, per site requirements
EHS Training, Coaching, and Consultation
  • Support site Safety Champion program development and implementation
  • Prepare and present site safety orientation sessions, at frequencies established for the project
  • Drive and support toolbox safety meetings implementation and activity
  • Review personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and provide recommendations in case
of non-compliance
  • Support safety champions in selecting and sourcing PPE and other safety supplies
  • Support Safety stand-down sessions, as needed
Customer Safety Activities
  • Attend and represent Applied site safety at Customer safety meetings
  • Share Customer EHS updates and audits with EHS and onsite staff
  • Provide EHS reports and metrics to Customer, as required
  • Participate in Customer safety audits, as required
  • Report any site safety concerns to Customer EHS and work with Customer EHS to track corrective
actions
  • As required, coordinate any pandemic requirements and information
Other EHS Activities
  • Complete other EHS activities as assigned
  • Any non-EHS activities must be agreed to by EHS and the site manager
  • Provide on-call holiday support based on project needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Additional training, and/or certifications in the Safety & Health career field are preferable but not required.
  • Degree in Safety or EHS is preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 is highly preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite; (Word, Excel, E-mail, etc)
  • Other skills required:
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English through verbal and written documentation and provide influential training and guidance.
  • Knowledge of safe handling practices of chemicals and ability to handle potentially hazardous substances utilizing proper procedures.
  • Ability to research, interpret and understand federal, state, and local EHS requirements, as well as industry best practices and consensus standards such as ISO and ANSI.
  • Ability to write reports to include objective interpretation of facts and circumstances, identify causal factors, and recommend corrective actions.

TRAVEL: 50% Sherman TX and 50% Richardson TX.

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
  • Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.
