Key Responsibilities:
- Apply purchasing strategies and create and implement new strategies that enhance competitive advantage for the company and its customers.
- Provide risk and cost management in the development and maintenance of strategic supplier relationships.
- Manage supplier base to ensure an appropriate supply of materials and related items to meet current and future production needs.
- Develop and implement cost savings and reduction plans.
- Work closely with Production Planners, Production Supervisors to understand current business need and production status.
- Contribute to the overall materials cost savings goal by developing and implementing savings initiatives for your commodities.
- Responsible for selection and development of reliable suppliers, control of pricing and quality of goods.
- Will follow up on open orders and expedite as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining a computerized purchase and inventory system.
- Responsible to perform continuous improvement of the value stream purchasing processes
- Bachelors preferred but open on degree.
- MRO purchasing experience
- 2+ years of related work experience in purchasing or inventory
- Intermediate computer knowledge (Windows, Excel, email, internet, ect)
- Experience with MRP or SAP
