The Senior Vice President, Biometrics, Data Science and Access (BDSA), will lead Certara’s Biometrics, Data Sciences and Evidence, Value & Access organization. This individual will manage a team of approximately 200 professionals globally across various disciplines, with a particular focus on leveraging advanced data science and analytic methodologies to drive innovation and impact in drug development.

This position is part of the Certara Drug Development Solutions’ (CDDS) Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for contributing to overall CDDS strategy and optimizing the delivery of BDSA services and database products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, inspire, and optimize the capabilities of our global biometrics and programming teams, data sciences, market access, and RWE functions.
  • Set business strategy, accountable for achieving key business metrics, and ensure delivery of data insights and analytic innovations to Certara Clients.
  • Drive innovation and support development of novel and emerging methodologic solutions such as novel observational and clinical trial designs, data synthesis, incorporating real world and clinical trial databases into decision making, and developing novel applications of AI/ML to meet client needs.
  • Champion the adoption and integration of advanced data science techniques, including machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and predictive analytics, to revolutionize how Certara supports drug development and market access strategies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide internal and external consulting to Certara Clients
  • Serve as and interact with key opinion leaders in the industry in one or more areas of biostatistics, data sciences, market access and RWE generation, enhancing the profile of Certara and BDSA in the industry
  • Collaborate with business development teams to drive growth, identify new market opportunities, and expand the client base, with a focus on data-driven solutions.
  • Work closely with other executive leaders to shape the direction of the company and ensure the integration of data science and BDSA services within broader drug development and regulatory science offerings.
  • Foster a highly collaborative environment characterized by intellectual curiosity, innovation, and collegiality, focused on achieving client success
  • Develop and promote a supportive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, integrity and accountability, and supports talent development, coaching, and leadership succession.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in Biometrics, Data Science, Public Health, Health Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing global teams and delivering growth in a consulting or service-based organization.
  • 10+ years in senior leadership managing large teams; global experience preferred
  • Experience in P&L management, strategic leadership, and business development
  • Broad appreciation and vision for data science, biometrics, statistical programming, real-world evidence, health economics, and/or market access; deep expertise in at least one scientific domain
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to drive profitability and operational efficiency
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to innovate in science and drug development
