Job Description:

Are you driven to bring awareness to celiac disease and help solve the critical issues that impact the health of those affected? The Development Coordinator will play an important role in advancing the Celiac Disease Foundation’s vision of promoting awareness, education, and donor engagement initiatives, and will collaborate with the Director of Development and Assistant Director of Individual Giving to develop and implement the Foundation’s annual strategic plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a robust annual development strategy that addresses donor and supporter interests, including collaborating with other team members to assure that digital and print content align with the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Write and develop materials for development and fundraising campaigns, including donor appeals, funding proposals, campaign-related promotional materials, and other communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events to ensure all communications are aligned with campaign goals.
  • Oversee and fulfill all corporate sponsorship commitments, ensuring timely delivery of promised benefits and maintaining positive relationships with sponsors. Conduct regular reporting and analysis for sponsors, as needed, to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary project manager for various campaign components and other related projects, working closely with the Director of Development and Assistant Director of Individual Giving to ensure successful execution and completion of projects.
  • Develop, edit, and design campaign content, forms, landing pages, and donation pages, under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Development.
  • Generate and compile weekly donor reports, inputting relevant information into DonorSearch and Salsa CRM, field inquiries, and determine appropriate contacts for follow-up, collaborating with the Development team.
  • Manage and engage Team Gluten-Free, fostering a positive and collaborative environment to enhance involvement and contribution to the campaigns.
  • Monitor fundraising campaigns, tracking performance metrics, and providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the liaison with the Communications team on social media posts and newsletter deliverables to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Stay apprised of supporter interests through regular review of celiac disease and gluten-free diet news and digital content.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Understanding of and passion for the non-profit advocacy space and celiac disease.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in development, project management, community engagement, or nonprofit sector.
  • Superior writing, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. Ability to assist with drafting fundraising collateral.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with non-profit CRM and prospect management preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, donors, and corporate partners.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies (both mid and major-gift level), event planning, and community outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and follow projects to completion with enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Willingness to take initiative and awareness of when to consult supervisor for direction.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • A strong belief in the organization’s mission, goals, and accomplishments.
  • Ability to represent the Celiac Disease Foundation in a mature and professional manner.
  • Ability to successfully work independently and with a team and maintain flexibility; willingness to quickly adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
