Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life of Director of Accounts Payable and Receivable

As a Director of Accounts Payable and Receivable for Liberty Military Housing, you are responsible for supervising the completion of all accounting-related tasks necessary to produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual records reflecting Liberty Military Housing’s financial performance, including coordination with National Support Operations leaders.
You will lead and oversee the Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Allotment Team ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant financial processes. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the best practices, managing staff, maintaining internal and external customer relationships, and driving continuous process improvement.

You will need a combination of strong technical accounting knowledge with leadership and strategic vision

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor AP, AR, and Allotment teams, aligning with company objectives.
  • Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and improve workflows.
  • Oversee vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring compliance with policies and laws.
  • Manage cash needs and AP aging reports, ensuring timely billing, collections, and receivable tracking.
  • Maintain data integrity, develop procedures for allotment input, and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain AP/AR policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other standards.
  • Provide updates to leadership, support month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborate with auditors.
  • Handle additional responsibilities or ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

What You Need for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting operations.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, subordinates, internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Experience in the Property Management industry preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as well as sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

Pay Range $108,000 - $140,000 annually plus bonus
