Overview:

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Computer User Support Specialist Senior with 10+ years’ experience for Department of Defense program onsite at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in Ridgecrest, CA. and/or Point Mugu Naval Base in Camarillo, CA.

Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $72,000.00 USD to $89,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to computer users
  • Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically
  • May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems
  • Senior level person typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently
  • Senior level person may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
  • Monitor computer system performance to ensure proper operation
  • Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues
  • Provide technical support for software maintenance or use
  • Install and maintain computer hardware
  • Resolve computer software problems
  • Install software and test computer software performance
  • Train others in computer interface or software use

Qualifications:

  • Over 10+ years of experience performing the duties described in the Functional Description and Responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer and organizational level communications, both formal and informal
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

EDUCATION

Degree: MA/MS degree in a Computer, Information Science field, Mathematics or a relevant technical discipline.

Allowable Substitution: Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years additional work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree.

CLEARANCE

Condition of Employment: Applicant must have an active DoD Secret Level Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
