Emergency and Critical Care Manager, AVES
We currently have an opening for an Emergency and Critical Care (ER/CC) Clinical Manager role to join our hospital. This position provides an experienced veterinary leader the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and collaborative skills on a daily basis, supporting our staff that works 24/7/365.
Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) has been established in the Austin community for 9 years serving the Austin pet community. We are a robust 24/7/365 veterinary facility that offers Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiology services.In approximately 1 year, we will be relocating our hospital to a new location (within 2.6 miles from our current location) which will allow us to expand our services and provide growth opportunities for our staff. We have a strong focus on continued education of our staff through an on-site Education Program that provides on the job training for our support staff. Our current opening is for an ER/CC Clinical Manager to help support our 24/7/365 ER/CC service.
The ER/CC Clinical Manager will help oversee the entire ER/CC staff (~ 40 staff members including technicians, technician assistants, kennel attendants, etc). The ER/CC Clinical Manager will work alongside the Specialty Clinical Manager whom oversees support staff in disciplines including Neurology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery.
Requirements and Responsibilities include:
- Previous management experience in veterinary medicine strongly desired.
- Positive and collaborative role model for all staff, overseeing all aspects of the Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians within the ER/CC department.
- Assist Medical Director in deciding how all standards and results required of the department are reached.
- Manage employee schedules; perform employee coaching and development, delegate duties and responsibilities to the departments’ staff.
- Assist in providing quality and compassionate care to all AVES patients and clients.
- Must have good communication skills and a strong professional relationship with the doctors, technical staff, customer service staff, education department and other Managers and supervisors in order to perform the work as delegated.
- High energy, positive, professional and collaborative leader who can handle multiple tasks at one time as well as a high stress and fast paced environment.
This is a full-time position working 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week.
Compensation is based on experience: $70,000.00 - 93,000.00 per year
