Our client has an opening for a Pathology Assistant who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This role will work onsite at our partners facilities within the Lee Health system with a Monday - Friday, day shift.
Position Summary:
As a Pathology assistant you will work closely with supervising pathologists to perform tissue transfer and large specimen grossing with appropriate tissue sampling and gross description composition.
Responsibilities:
Gross pathology prosection and description with submission of appropriate tissue for thorough pathology evaluationAssist with preparation of frozen section slides
Prosect and assist in report generation of rare fetal and adult autopsies
Assist in appropriate quality control and quality assurance measures
Assist pathologists in preparing for tumor board or other presentations
Experience & Required Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Pathologist Assistant (PA) from an accredited college or university, graduation from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists Assistant program preferred, Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciencesPathologist assistant certification under ASCP
Five years of laboratory experience as pathology assistant
