Sr. Supply Chain & Global Support Manager

Role Overview:

PIC, a Genus PLC company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Sr. Supply Chain & Global Support Manager to perform supply chain and logistics functions such as production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.

The position has primary accountability for creating integrated processes among internal functions, such as benchmarking and identifying risk, and outside suppliers. This role is also responsible for leading the PRP PRRS resistant pig, implementing and managing the PIC supply chain strategy that optimizes cost, biosecurity and product mix to meet PIC’s customer needs and aligns with the operating and strategic objectives of the business.

The successful candidate is a collaborator, a critical thinker with the ability to work in and maintain performance expectations in a fast-paced environment, who leads, motivates and coaches a diverse team while building technical competencies, and has strong communication, interpersonal and technical writing skills.

The position is a remote position with domestic and international travel.

You Will:

  • Provide leadership and direction through managers focused on related areas of specialization.
  • Derive and execute functional business plans and contribute to the development of functional strategies
  • Develop global benchmarking standards & manage global projects that lead the vision in ‘global excellence’.
  • Lead a team responsible for disseminating genetic improvement from our PRP herds, as well as through export departments, through the Supply Chain to our customers in the most efficient and cost-effective means possible.
  • Develop a high-performing team by engaging, coaching, and developing team members and by driving accountability and ownership at all levels to ensure the implementation and execution of the supply chain strategy and product quality initiatives are achieved.
  • Identify growth opportunities with existing and prospective partners/customers to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Implement genetic improvement strategies in a timely and efficient manner for the benefit of customers and multiplication partners.
  • Develop and manage regional supply chain budget, continuously evaluating and identifying efficiencies, variances, and cost savings opportunities.
  • Create marketing strategies, communicate updates, along with feed mill partnerships and risk management opportunities.
  • Maintain product quality to specific standards, address customer quality concerns and identify win-win solutions.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all product inventories on a timely basis.
  • Remain current in area of responsibility through establishing a network of industry & academic contacts, studying literature and attending scientific/industry meetings and stay proficient in relevant production technologies and best practices.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of morale.
  • Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Domestic and international travel is approximately 40%.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural or business-related fields
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in supply chain to include:
  • Managing and developing people,
  • Creating and managing a budget,
  • Overseeing animal production, systems and processes
  • Working with suppliers, contract farms and relationship management
  • Working knowledge of contemporary data/production reporting systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications: (desired)
  • Multilingual: Spanish or Mandarin desired not required
