Regional VP of Operations - Nursing (Mountain West)
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative oversight to Nursing staff in areas such as clinical quality, customer service, human capital management, culture and engagement, information systems, process management and lean management principles, finances and general clinic operations.
Exercise leadership and management responsibility over all functions within this management portfolio, ensuring efficient services designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public, and staff.
Participate with other senior personnel in analyzing, planning, and formulating strategy for clinic entity goals and implementing plans and programs; analyze practice operations and needs to determine potential enhancements or improvements to procedures and activities.
Liaison with all levels of administration, physicians, staff, Marketing, outside organizations, etc., to coordinate the business of the assigned region, accomplish directives, and facilitate the resolution of problems.
Work with leadership teams throughout the system, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, and analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
Develop and foster effective collaboration between other departments to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling our operational goals and objectives.
Direct the compilation of and|or preparation of operational or financial reports and analyses, setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Assure the achievement of balanced scorecard targets.
Determine regional fiscal requirements and approve budgetary recommendations for assigned practices; monitor and verify reconciliation of expenditure of budgeted funds.
Establish major schedules, task assignments, and allocations of manpower, space, and equipment to ensure conformance with commitments for assigned clinics|practices.
May direct the strategic assessment of marketplace needs, the competitive environment, cost management, and customer-focused programs and services. Develop new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance.
May be responsible for managing physician contracts as they pertain to compensation, benefits, termination, schedules, and liability|malpractice coverage (for outside activities).
Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
Perform other duties related to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this LevelEducation:
Work requires organizational, analytical, and communication skills, which are acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a business or healthcare-related field.
Nurse PractitionerA master's degree in a business or healthcare-related field is strongly preferred.
Experience:Five years of clinic|practice management or other related healthcare administration experience is required. The experience includes practice operations and financial analyses.
Ideal candidates will have a background in practice operations, including patient flow quality and safety. They will also have a background in financial analysis and a demonstrated understanding of the revenue cycle. Candidates must be able to manage complex business and human capital issues and communicate about those issues with physicians, staff, and managers.
