2nd Shift Supervisor with QA Experience

SMV Recruiting is partnering with a great client looking for a 2nd Shift QA Supervisor in Syracuse, NY. In this role you will lead, manage, train and support around 60 employees during the 2nd shift which runs Monday night into Saturday morning, from 9:30pm-6:30/6:45am.Our client offers a great company culture and outstanding benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Manage around 25 QA employees on 2nd shift on the production floor
• Coordinate production, housekeeping, and support activities, ensuring paperwork accuracy
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, GMPs, OSHA guidelines, and company policies, procedures and contracts
• Develop employees through training and positive communication
• Uphold compliance with the union contract and administer fair disciplinary actions
• Meet or exceed production targets consistently
• Support teams in achieving cost, quality, safety, service, and personal goals
• Provide guidance and assistance in resolving operational issues and employee issues
• Provide feedback regularly on reliability, safety, quality, and compliance to management and team members
• Support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and prepare for audits and inspections and ensure completion of action plans post-audits
• Generate performance reports
• Prepare monthly reports and liaise with managers daily to ensure accurate reporting
• Assist the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager and fill in for them as required

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Food Science, Food Manufacturing, Biology, or a related field
• 5-8 years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing is preferred
• Familiarity with ISO standards, including ISO 22000 and FSMA is strongly preferred
• Certification in PCQI, HACCP, GMP, and sanitation is preferred
