EmergencyICU Veterinary Assistant

Requirements
Requirements of the job will include:
Cleaning cages, runs, wet tables, counters daily
Keeping examination and treatment areas clean and stocked
Ensure hospitalized patient litter boxes and cages are free of feces and urine
Exercising/Walking patients
Assisting technicians and doctors
Utilizing proper and safe animal restraint
Weighing animals
Inputting basic information into medical record system (vital signs)
Learning normal parameters for vital signs
Performing nail trims and ear cleaning
Removing simple bandages
Doing laundry
Cleaning surgical instruments and wrap for sterilization
Assisting with surgical preparation (surgery room and patient) and maintaining atimely start to surgical procedures
Setting up for and cleaning up after procedures and maintaining equipment
Learning routine maintenance and use of laboratory equipment
Assisting with radiograph positioning and processing including set up of equipmentand input of patient information
Assisting with restraint for ultrasound
Ability to work with heating pads/blankets, scales, thermometers, otoscopes, incubators, clippers/blades, and perform daily cleaning of these items
Assisting with opening and putting away inventory & alerting inventorymanager when medications and supplies are low
Unpacking and restocking drugs and supplies
