Qualifications:

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or PR
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful campaigns
  • Demonstrated skills in brand management, visibility, and growth across a complex set of audiences and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing and social media
  • Experience with media relations and crisis communications
  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent communicator (written, verbal and interpersonal skills), solution-oriented and creative thinker.
  • Excellent computer and research skills, including the use of database software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to create and sustain strategic partnerships and relationships.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive administrative reports.
  • Ability to achieve common goals independently and as a team member.
  • Position is considered exempt.
  • This position is designated as “hybrid/flex” and may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy.
  • Position will be based in the Orlando or New York City office.

Responsibilities:

The Role

The Senior Manager, Marketing, Communications, & PR, will be responsible for successfully managing and implementing a coordinated and comprehensive marketing, communications, and PR strategy to meet yearly goals set by the CEO and endorsed by the USTA Foundation Board of Directors.

Reporting to the Head of Development & Partnerships, the Senior Manager will be responsible for achieving the Foundation’s brand and visibility goals by successfully growing its following, visibility, and brand equity. This includes developing a following on social media and via newsletter, cultivating key relationships to increase visibility, developing mission-driven partnerships and campaigns, and successfully managing a stable of internal and external service providers and collaborators.

A focus on, but not limited to:

  • Marketing, Communications, and PR Operations
  • Construct and lead targeted and mission-driven campaigns to elevate the USTA Foundation brand and visibility. Provide on-going guidance and support to a stable of internal and external partners and consultants to ensure that collectively, they are executing against the Marketing, Communications, and PR plans and that the brand and execution strategy are aligned and orchestrated. Create a year-round marketing, PR and editorial calendar to maintain transparent communication and coordination across the organization.
  • Stewardship & Recognition
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that sponsors and donors receive high quality updates and are recognized often and appropriately for their commitment to the USTA Foundation mission.
  • Data & Analytics
  • Maintain and monitor brand and visibility metrics across the organization channels to track growth and reputation scores. Make recommendations to the organization about how to improve/build upon progress and challenges.
  • Other Duties - as assigned by the organization.

Travel Obligations:

  • Senior Manager may have periods of heavy travel in the field to manage special events.
  • Attendance at Foundation and USTA meetings and functions –i.e., Annual and Semi-Annual Conferences, the US Open, other tennis activations/tournaments/events, and Staff Development Trainings.
  • All travel is to be approved by the Head of Development & Partnerships prior to departure.
