Location: Neptune, NJ

Schedule:

• Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM & 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Holidays as Needed
• No On-Call

Required Unit Experience: Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team in Neptune, NJ. The ideal candidate must have IV, phlebotomy, and EPIC experience and a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and verify identification bracelets
• Prepare patients for assessments, admissions, physical exams, and procedures
• Perform intravenous and capillary blood draws using proper aseptic techniques
• Conduct EKGs as directed
• Ensure all necessary equipment is present, functional, and clean
• Assist in patient transport between departments or units
• Provide support with meal assistance and feeding as needed
• Monitor and restock inventory in assigned areas
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment
• Provide direct hygiene and comfort care (bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, bed making)
• Take and document vital signs under RN supervision and report results
• Perform and document glucose finger sticks and collect specimens as required
• Obtain and document daily patient weights, intake, and output
• Respond to call lights promptly and communicate any patient condition changes to the RN immediately

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of PCT experience in a hospital setting (strongly preferred)
• Experience with IVs, phlebotomy, and EPIC required

Education & Licensure:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Certifications (Required Prior to Start):

• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• One of the following certifications:
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Patient Care Technician (PCT) with completed certification, including Phlebotomy, EKG, and Nursing Assistant coursework (theoretical and clinical)
• Proof of program completion for CNA or PCT certification
