Overview:The Senior Director, Commercial Data Strategy & Innovation will enhance Insmed’s ability to leverage data to inform and guide business decisions, drive innovation, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. The person in this role will report to the VP of Commercial Effectiveness and work closely with multiple cross-functional teams, including partnering with IT to define AI strategy for commercial applications and ensure alignment of data assets for AI initiatives.
The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in data strategy/architecture as well as a deep understanding of emerging trends in data, analytics, and AI. This is a hands-on position that requires an entrepreneurial mindset. The position will be in Bridgewater, NJ and may require some travel.

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary data strategist. The person in this role will be responsible for:
- Partnering with internal experts and commercial leadership to develop a world-class data strategy that will support Insmed’s commercial operations and drive innovation
- Acting as a thought leader in data strategy and artificial intelligence—helping to advance the plans for and use of data for key business operations
- Creating a roadmap for Commercial data strategy—from launch planning to field execution—that will deliver on key business goals
- Ensuring the delivery and timely execution of the data strategy roadmap, as well as regularly tracking emerging trends and adding relevant innovative solutions to the roadmap
- Identifying relevant data assets as well as maintaining a comprehensive inventory of commercial data assets; partnering with IT on data acquisition / onboarding
- Partnering with analytic, data management, and IT teams on core elements of data asset life cycle management (e.g., ethical data usage, data investments); supporting acquisition / value generation of external data assets
- Contributing Commercial views into the design and implementation of scalable, efficient, and automated processes for Data Management
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical data (e.g., sales, specialty pharmacy, payer, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient-level data)
- Several years of experience in the fields of Data Strategy, Governance, Data Products, Data Architecture, Data Science with a focus in the life sciences industry
- Experience with launches and commercialization of pharmaceutical products (specialty drug/respiratory launch experience preferred)
- Strong blend of technical proficiency, business acumen, and experience informing business growth and delivering innovative data solutions
- Experience within the US market (experience with global markets beneficial
- 10+ years of leadership experience in data strategy, commercial analytics, digital transformation within a pharmaceutical/biotech company or healthcare consulting firm
- Masters in Computer Science, Data Science, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Experience acting as a thought partner and advocate for the use of data to inform decision-making and drive positive change in the healthcare industry
- Proven track record of driving data-centric innovations and experience with AI required
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data governance standards applicable to the biopharma industry
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking coupled with experience crafting digital solution roadmaps and designing programs for real world application
- Broad expertise in communicating and interacting with a diverse set of stakeholders, senior leadership, and product managers to elicit requirements as well as participation and engagement in data initiatives
- Proficient in working with distributed teams in a matrix environment, as well as the ability to work autonomously
- Solid understanding and expertise in conducting analyses with the goal of garnering actionable insights
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Salary Range:
$207,000 - $289,867 a year
