Team Leader-Maintenance
Overview:
THE DETAILS- 2^nd shift 6:30 pm-5:00 am

- THE ROLE
The Team Leader assists the management team in supervising all department functions by carrying out supervisor’s instructions in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include promoting safety, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and addressing complaints and resolving problems, as well as any other tasked deemed necessary by management.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Set the example to all employees on following safety rules and quality guidelines. At the same time ensure that all employees are also following Safety rules and Quality guidelines.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work well with others, to achieve open communication with all employees and management.
- Ensure tools and equipment are inspected and ready for use daily.
- Ensure maintenance is performed on critical equipment.
- Ensure Training matrices are maintained and updated or are appropriately escalated to appropriate Supervisor.
- Monitors area cleanliness and housekeeping issues, ensuring immediate resolution when possible.
- Ensures area defects are known and understood with problem descriptions written according to facility criteria.
- Randomly checks to ensure Standard Work (if applicable) is being adhered to.
- STC and BIQ boards are managed and completed.
- Parts are available and in required quantities.
- Before shift and end of shift activities are completed.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Assists in redesigning or adjusting measurement capability to minimizing errors.
- Works with personnel from other departments to achieve results and advises others on methods to resolve problems and exchange information with quality and production personnel.
- Utilizes problem solving skills to solve problems identified during daily activities.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during daily activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Directs workers engaged in functional activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)- Ability to read and follow instructional materials and work closely with Supervisor and other functional areas to ensure all critical specifications are met.
- Solid knowledge of work processes.
- Ability to help prioritize the workflows of the department as needed and be able to utilize best employees for certain areas.
- Ability to accurately use appropriate tools.
- Ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instruction.
- Aptitude to learn and retain new information.
- Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Office and plant environment.
- Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.

- Ability to stand and move about on concrete 8-12 hours a day. Ability to see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, carry, climb (including ladders), work overhead, push and pull.
- Ability to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) multiple times daily in an 8-to-12-hour shift.
- Ability to maneuver large parts and assemblies (up to 180 pounds) by pushing, pulling, and flipping them into place.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.

- Employees must wear all mandated PPE, which includes at least protection for the eyes, ears, hands, head, body, and feet. The noise level in the work environment is medium to loud on a regular basis and is always contained by use of hearing protection.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is exposed to limited amounts of vibration/jarring. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.
