Senior Chemical Project Engineer (Water Treatment)

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Chemical Project Engineer (Desalination) for an energy related client located in Houston, Texas(link removed)>

Base up to $180k DOE plus up to 20% bonus, LTI and benefits package

Role is 4 days per week in North Houston office / 1 day WFH

This position is a combination of Project Management and Chemical Engineering responsibilities

Experience with desalination, water management, water treatment for industrial applications required

Up to 25% travel within North America as needed

Engineering Responsibilities:

Ensuring projects are compliant with ISO standards and meet all associated requirements.

Develop PFD drawing and produce material and energy balances for all new or existing operations.

Use CAD programs to build or modify line drawings.

Performs complex chemical engineering calculations.

Staying on top of the latest chemical blending market updates and industry trends

Developing new and improving existing products and processes and applying new technologies.

Using scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to solve problems and improve processes.

Designing, proposing, implementing, reviewing, and correcting plans to ensure company goals are achieved.

Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality.

Project Management Responsibilities:

Help establish and manage scope of project(s) associated with desalination and water treatment. Define goals and objectives with sufficient detail to facilitate understanding, planning, and correct action.

Oversee communication and project interface(s) to appropriate parties.

Responsible for project timelines and ensuring all deliverables are met within allotted timeframes.

Develop new processes from concept to the finished operating process.

Oversee all project risks to ensure that the project is performed safely and to the quality standards required, at the minimum practical cost and within budget.

Works with R&D, Operations, Sales and all other related teams to provide both guidance and expertise.

Will lead projects by building team and an executable scope or works, building a solid cost model (OPEX and CAPEX), acquire equipment, write procedures, and test plans, conduct start up and turn over the finished new or modified process to Operations management team.

Provide training that will aid in developing others on process improvements.

Manage a team staff of 4-5 professionals.

Overseeing policy, process, and system development.

Promoting a culture of HSE within the organization.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or related degree and 10+ years of engineering/PM experience

Strong Project and People management skills including supervisory experience

Experience with Desalination, membrane technology, water management, and/or water treatment required

5+ years of project management and people management experience

PMP and PE certification are highly desired

Lean experience preferred Six Sigma: Yellow, Green, Black Belt
