The Role
Responsible to schedule and supervise personnel, subcontractors and daily activities involved in the successful execution of events and maintenance of the facilities, performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Directs, supervises and schedules all aspects of Facility Operations, including Engineering, and Buildings.
- Insure that venue is prepared each year on a timely basis to host the US Open and able to accommodate all partners, staff and guests with all of their needs.
- Develop short and long term renovation and equipment purchase plan.
- Continuously review current building needs and make recommendations.
- Assist Chief Operating Officer with financial management, contract negotiations, administration, programming, and strategic planning.
- Secure and protect the facilities assets, including facilities and equipment. Ability to create a “team” environment within internal full/part staff as well as third party vendors.
- Hire, train and supervise the Facility Operations Staff and all trades (HVAC, plumbers, carpenters, electricians).
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the Annual Operating Budget and recommend a capital budget for 1-year and 5-year long range repairs and improvements to the venue.
- Update programs and manuals for preventative maintenance. Oversee repair and maintenance of all facilities, systems and equipment.
- Update budgets and monitor expense.
- Negotiate with vendors, unions, contractors and/or service providers.
- Coordinate and oversee special projects, such as construction, remodeling or expansion. Plan and direct outside vendors/contractors work to assure compliance with contracts and safety requirements.
- Know and ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed.
- Oversee and assure cleanliness of all areas and equipment.
- Prepare weekly schedule and report of Facility Operations for Chief Operating Officer.
- Provide yearly inventory of all equipment.
- Act as liaison to public utility, environmental and energy agencies, Assist COO in implementation of any energy saving guidelines.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Chief Operating Officer, NTC.
- Knowledge of functions, operations, and equipment of a major sports venue.
- Knowledge of safety practices and all applicable safety standards for public facilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with outside groups, organizations, trades, supervisors, subordinates and the public.
- Strong organizations, supervisory, communication, and writing skills.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of overall experience in this field is required and a premium will be place on candidates with experience in sports venues.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and preventative maintenance programs.
- Project Management: Proven ability to oversee large-scale construction, remodeling, or expansion projects.
- Budget Management: Experience in developing and managing operating and capital budgets, including long-term financial planning.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and manage multidisciplinary teams and third-party vendors.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong skills in contract negotiations with unions, vendors, and contractors.
- Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety codes, risk management, and emergency procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills to foster a team-oriented culture and collaboration across departments.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with facility management software and systems.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $170,000 - $210,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
