About Our Client

Our client is a family owned and operated general contractor who has been around for over 50 years. They are seeking an excavation estimator for their commercial and light industrial construction projects in the Chicago area. Our client works on projects ranging from $10K to $5M and projects are typically sized between .5 to 5 acres. All projects are local to the Chicagoland area.

They excavate for building foundations, strip sites, cut/full to desired grade, cut for curbs, install/remove underground storage tanks, remove asphalt, remove concrete, place stone under concrete and place black dirt in planters.

Job Description

Analyze blueprints and bid specifications
Prepare takeoffs, quantities (roctek software)
Determine material, equipment, and labor needed for bid
Attend preconstruction meetings
Prepare proposals and contracts
Follow up with Client on submitted proposals
Assist superintendents and monitor job progress
Job site visits and meetings
prepare and submit change orders
Compile and submit invoices
Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing new clients

The Successful Applicant

3+ years of excavation estimating experience
Experienced in reed Civil, structural and architectural plans
proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Demonstrate leadership skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong work ethics and willingness to work as a team player

Base salary of $100,000 - $125,000, depending on experience
