Robert Half is welcoming a proficient HR Generalist to become an integral part of our client's team based in the New Brunswick, New Jersey area. As an HR Generalist, your primary focus will be on managing daily human resources tasks including employee relations, training, safety, labor relations, and maintaining employee records.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison, fostering open communication between employees and corporate leadership.
  • Oversee daily operations of human resources, with a focus on compensation and benefits.
  • Coordinate employee leaves, including disability, maternity, FMLA, ensuring all necessary paperwork and information is provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee personnel and medical files.
  • Advise supervisors on disciplinary action in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Administer policies according to executive level direction.
  • Play a crucial role in staffing by assisting in candidate selection, placing employment advertisements, and conducting interviews.
  • Ensure all employee, medical, OSHA, and other applicable records and documents are correctly retained.
  • Resolve any employee inquiries and complaints, ensuring resolution according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety and training information and ensure it is correctly distributed.
  • Coordinate all Worker’s Compensation claims, ensuring appointments are kept and employees are eligible to return to work.
  • Supervise the Recruiter through coaching and review of their duties and phone calls.
  • Collaborate with Medical Director, Lab Supervisor, and Safety Compliance officer to maintain compliance with CLIA/CAP guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is beneficial.
  • Must possess strong skills in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Proficiency in ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is required
  • Experience with Ceridian and Dayforce software is essential
  • Knowledge of Benefit Functions is necessary
  • Must have excellent Communication skills
  • Compliance knowledge and experience is a must
  • Expertise in Employee Relations is needed
  • Familiarity with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is required
  • The ability to effectively manage tasks and meet deadlines is necessary
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and act in the company's best interest
  • Should be open to continuous learning and skill development
  • Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment is needed
