Responsibilities:

The Director of Revenue Cycle will serve a key leadership role in the revenue cycle process, reporting to the CFO.

  • Provide strategic direction for the revenue cycle function at Groups. Drive innovation, operational and technological enhancements, and standardization by leveraging best practices and processes.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to respond to current and future challenges presented by legislation and compliance in order to monitor and address changing revenue cycle practices
  • Maintains functional accountability for the insurance claim function which includes: monitoring the status of claims and denials management
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing rendered patient services and reimbursement
  • Manage the relationship with outsourced billing partner to ensure accuracy and efficiency of claims handled via third party.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to the finance team to support the month-end close process.
  • Collaborate with the corporate team to establish and drive departmental and organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards around revenue cycle operations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures governing revenue cycle management and billing compliance for the organization.
  • Investigate and analyze issues, root causes, patterns, or trends and identify and implement process improvement actions in support of revenue cycle objectives.
  • Optimize revenue cycle management systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of both billing and collections efforts
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

We’re Excited About You Because…
  • Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Management or related field
  • At least ten years of experience in billing or revenue cycle operations
  • Minimum of two years of behavioral health treatment experience required
  • Minimum of two years of physician practice billing preferred
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience including hiring, training and evaluation of direct reports
  • EHR and/or billing software experience required.
  • Certified Coder Certificate strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure with excellent customer service skills required
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills required
  • Great work ethic.

Other Important Aspects
  • This position will have one direct report to start, with management of external vendors as well
  • While this role is primarily remote, there is a 1-day a week in-person requirement in home office location of Burlington, MA
  • This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
