Sr. Accountant - Statutory/Regulatory Reporting

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant - Statutory/Regulatory Reporting in the healthcare industry, based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves working remotely, focusing primarily on statutory and regulatory reporting.

• Managing statutory financial reporting and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Utilizing Sovos, a compliance software, to maintain and improve reporting processes
• Independently handling state filings for premium tax returns and regulated fees
• Applying knowledge of insurance or reinsurance to enhance stat/reg reporting processes
• Maintaining a proactive approach to work, taking the initiative in executing tasks without constant supervision
• Assisting in the transition away from Fresenius licenses and systems by focusing on tasks directly related to the role
• Collaborating with the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller to ensure efficient workflow. • Demonstrated experience in Statutory Reporting and Statutory Financial Reporting is essential.
• A comprehensive understanding of Multi-state Tax and its application is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is necessary.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prepare reports with accuracy.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret and analyze financial data.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
• Experience in managing and guiding entry level accounting staff is a plus.
