Sr. Buyer/Planner

Overview:

The Senior Buyer/Planner role is a critical part of our Purchasing Team, supporting our manufacturing operations by procuring needed materials and services at competitive prices while meeting our company’s quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure and Plan raw materials, commodities, machinery and services with the best total cost, quality and delivery performance, for assigned manufacturing area
  • Support research and engineering teams to identify, qualify and implement lower cost supplies from existing sources and new sources
  • Control purchase price variances, improve supplier quality, reduce material variability and improve delivery performance, in order to improve material costs, quality and security of supply
  • Establish effective relationships with suppliers to ensure the best delivery and prices for requested items
  • Invoice Resolution, within in required time frame
  • Customer service oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and is capable of working cross-functionally with other departments
  • Negotiate discount payment terms as needed
  • Identify and implement Process Improvements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to implement material safety stock, First-In-First-Out system, VMI programs to reduce inventory costs and optimize delivery performance
  • Monitor key market conditions or supply chain obstructions that will influence the availability and cost of key purchases to ensure proactive steps are taken to respond to any adverse movements
  • Ensure seamless communication on all aspects of procurement, between the various manufacturing centers and LeMaitre Purchasing team
  • Participate in improving the material supply chain by developing expectations for the suppliers, monitoring and holding the suppliers accountable and improving the quality dialog with suppliers in leading to lower total cost
  • Maintain the On-Time Delivery report to measure and monitor supplier’s performance against quality and delivery standards
  • Proven ability to develop and improve supply chain network and supplier relationships
  • Engagement with internal customers and assigned departments
  • Perform all duties in a manner which exceeds all ethical standards for Lemaitre Vascular

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent Problem Solving Skills
  • 5 + years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong process and data-driven background
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Excellent communication, customer service skills and Presentation skills
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to multi task in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, most critically Excel
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems with D365
  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP and ISO standards
  • Experience with purchasing the following materials is preferred
  • Chemicals and Biologics
  • Printed materials, such as boxes, labels and IFU's
  • Injection molded, Extruded plastics & precision machined components
