Job Summary:

We are on the lookout for a skilled Windows POS Device Technician/Engineer to join our team at the Boston Support Center. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based point-of-sale (POS) devices.

If you have a strong background in Windows 10 LTSC and LTSB, Windows 11, and are experienced in device imaging and configuration management, we want to hear from you!

WKey Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the fleet of Windows-based POS devices across multiple locations.
  • Create, test, and deploy secure Windows images for POS devices.
  • Optimize Windows settings for improved performance and security related to POS applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows-related issues on POS devices promptly.
  • Evaluate and remediate Windows security vulnerabilities from periodic scans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for POS device configurations and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and operations teams to ensure the reliability and performance of POS devices.
  • Manage and enhance the wireless functionality for Windows tablets.

eRequired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience managing Windows-based systems, preferably within a POS environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, particularly in enterprise settings.
  • Experience with imaging and deployment tools associated with Windows.
  • Familiarity with Group Policy; knowledge of Active Directory is not required as we do not use it in our POS terminals.
  • Proficiency with remote management and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Windows Embedded Shell and the Windows DISM tool.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or MCSE are a plus.
  • Experience with POS software and hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of IT operations in retail and/or hospitality environments.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Prior experience managing Windows tablets and their wireless functionalities.
