Specialty Laundry Attendant - Central Laundry Facility, Virginia Beach VA

Overview:

Associate is responsible for weighing, receiving, sorting, loading, finishing and shipping clean high-quality finished linens. Ensure none of the various customer owned goods becomes co-mingled with another property. Report all safety, mechanical, and quality deficiencies immediately.

Responsibilities:

1. Know your job. Complete job skills training and possess an expert knowledge of the job, know property standards, listen attentively in Pre-shift and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations. Apply experience and training to accomplish tasks.
2. Be on time. Follow attendance guidelines and reports to work on time, and in uniform and follow clock in and out procedures.
3. Be on stage. Associates are friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist. Associates must follow property personal appearance standards, is well groomed, in uniform and practices good personal hygiene
4. Serve. Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with Guests and fellow Associates an in accord with the company’s service culture, “The Keys to Making it Right.”
5. Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.
6. Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
7. Measure Up. Associate produces work that exceeds the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality of a Laundry Attendant. Associate meets challenging goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
8. Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Must maintain a tidy and efficient work area including blowing down the computers, equipment control boxes, as well as making sure the work area is safe and clear of any safety issues and debris. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.
9. Be safe. Associate must adhere to all safety procedures at all times. Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety/ security violations in accordance with company policy.
10. Support the Team: Cooperate with other associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.
11. Computer Proficiency: Must demonstrate aptitude to operate and understand CBW computer, Dryer computer, and Hydraulic Press control panel.
12. Transport clean & dirty linens & towels from one machine to another machine or laundry cart.
13. Be able to operate cart dumper and sort soiled linen items by classification.
14. Be able to work with a variety of production equipment in the finishing area.
15. Prepares distribution carts with clean linen.
16. Assist with unloading, loading and weighing of the linen delivery carts.
17. Provide feedback to appropriate authority on linen quality, safety, security & physical environment problems.
18. Ensure the customer owned goods from one property do not get co-mingled with another property.
19. Finish clean linen in accordance with established quality and production standards.
20. Successfully complete all other duties assigned.
