Be part of a growth-oriented, established advisory practice within Northwestern Mutual. We are seeking an initiative-driven, client facing, and analytical individual to join our new team as the Associate Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA). In this role you will work closely with the financial advisor in the preparation and implementation of financial plans.This is a hybrid opportunity (Lombard, IL office) with comprehensive benefits, small team environment and unlimited growth opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associate Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) specific responsibilities may include but are not be limited to:
PROPOSAL AND CASE PREPARATION- Gather information for financial advisor’s meeting with client/prospect
- Prepare and modify financial plans using our proprietary planning software ● Prepare and modify insurance illustrations
- Prepare all materials and information new clients need during onboarding ● Open and fund investment accounts and process investment service requests, such as funds disbursements, account transfers and trade correction requests
- Maintain open communication with clients throughout account opening and funding, answer any client questions
- Communicate with Home Office on complex transactions
- Learn the firm’s planning and investment philosophy. The candidate will continue to develop expertise in investing, advanced planning and insurance.
- Think creatively on ways to build the practice.
- Accompany the wealth management advisor in client meetings to help capture client situations and then be able to direct the necessary work with the internal team. ● The AWMA must ensure all processes for the client experience are executed and will lead with strong follow through.
- Identify planning opportunities as the client's needs evolve (or as the economy/market ● changes).
- Create an unmatched client experience.
- Ensure all client information is kept confidential while also tracking business in CRM systems, with
- case notes.
- 3-5+ years of financial planning experience required
- Series 7 and 66 required
- Growth-focused with a passion for comprehensive planning
- Excellent communication skills - comfortable presenting to clients in person and virtually ● Proactive mindset to solve problems
- Industry designations or willingness to obtain CFP
- Life and Health Insurance licensed (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
