Staff Nurse, OS Clinics-Chemotherapy
Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Cancer Center) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards. The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge of chemotherapy and radiation oncology procedures to assess, screen, evaluate, educate and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards to adult patients who are under the care of the Outpatient Oncology Services team.
The role of the RN includes practice/office support. Demonstrates team approaches at all times and demonstrates flexibility by rotation between Oncology Services as required. Shows a working knowledge of UH, Joint Commission & DOH regulations.Participates in evidence based nursing and related QA and PI endeavors.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice in the State of New Jersey required. BSN preferred. BLS required. Current ACLS for healthcare professionals preferred. Current IV/Venous Access Device Certification preferred or must obtain within three (3) months of employment.Some hospital nursing experience preferred. Willing to train those with no previous oncology experience. Radiation Oncology certificate preferred. Essential requirements also include working predetermined flexible hours.
