URBN Senior Manager, Product Management - Philadelphia
Role Summary:
URBN is seeking a seasoned Product leader to join our organization. In this role, you will lead a team of product managers who work across a range of products and problem spaces, to deliver value to our customers and our family of global brands.
To be successful in this role, you will act both as player and coach. You will need to develop a deep understanding of the cross-product domains that your team owns so that you can guide initiative progress and overall portfolio strategy. As a leader of people, you will be responsible for supporting career development and growth for your team of product managers.
Role Responsibilities:

- People Management:
- You will manage 3-6 direct reports across multiple product teams.
- You will foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment where open communication and the spirit of continuous improvement is welcome.
- You know when to take the spotlight in advocating for your team and when to boost others into the forefront to help build their confidence, credibility and career trajectories.
- You will be responsible for traditional HR duties such as performance tracking, interviewing, etc.
- Stakeholder Management:
- URBN’s technology platform services a portfolio of global brands and as such this role must interface with a complex stakeholder group.
- You will work with brand leadership to translate stakeholder knowledge to inform roadmap priorities.
- You will create opportunities for formal and informal stakeholder communication to maintain alignment and address challenges.
- You will manage and guide hard decisions, leaning on data to build consensus across teams when there are changes in priority, resourcing shifts, and delivery timing.
- Strategic Direction:
- Guides roadmap and product strategy for multiple product areas in collaboration with product managers.
- Regularly communicates roadmap strategy to leadership, teammates and stakeholders in order to facilitate alignment.
- Keeps pulse on the business and brand priorities and supports changes in strategic direction when there is a compelling reason to do so.
- Execution:
- Helps teams identify and resolve risks or dependencies that may impede the successful delivery of work.
- Ensures that features are released with clear plans to measure impact and inform next steps.
- Finds opportunities to celebrate wins and approaches losses as learning opportunities.
- Open to jumping in to special projects or particularly complex projects to help out as an individual contributor when needed.
Role Qualifications:
- Significant experience in building and shipping consumer digital products together with teams of designers & engineers.
- Previous management experience overseeing a team of product managers.
- Excellent communicator and storyteller, able to navigate ambiguity & communicate a clear point of view to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and support a team to get things done.
- Detail oriented with organizational skills and ability to easily manage multiple ongoing projects across a broad set of product areas.
- Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to build business cases is a must.
- Technical and business acumen in a transaction-based (eCommerce) domain strongly preferred.
