Summary:

Goldbelt CP Marine is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • This position works under the supervision of a senior QA specialist.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of products and services.
  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement in products and processes.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and document quality requirements and ensure they are met throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Review project specifications, design documents, and requirements to ensure they align with quality standards and best practices.
  • Document and track defects using defect tracking tools, including logging, prioritizing, and coordinating defect resolution with development teams.
  • Monitor and report on QA metrics, including defect rates, test coverage, and testing progress, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Assist in identifying and recommending tools, technologies, and processes to improve QA practices and overall product quality.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and their impact on QA processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in providing quality control and assurance for projects and associated deliverables.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be a US citizen.
