Overview:
The role is a member of the Global Supply Chain & Logistics – Relationship Management team supporting the Technical Operations organization. The role will partner closely with Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain with responsibilities including supplier governance management, understanding market trends, leading and supporting sourcing event process, financial analysis, negotiating, and contract management.
You will engage with internal and external personnel as well as cross-functional teams spanning Manufacturing, CMC, Quality, Legal, Procurement, and Finance. The ideal candidate would be a strong collaborator, self-motivated, and able to problem-solve to influence and lead work groups.

This position reports to the Director, Supplier Relationship Management.

Responsibilities:

(Essential Role Responsibilities):

  • Lead supplier selection sourcing projects principally focused on clinical supply chain operations
  • Support supplier selection sourcing projects focused on drug substance, drug product, and packager contract manufacturing organizations
  • Ability to build relationships and earn trust of incumbent and prospective suppliers
  • Develop category sourcing strategy ideas and ability to articulate thoughts into actions
  • Confidence to communicate and present in group setting
  • Financial skills to analyze pricing scenarios and cost breakdowns
  • Organize and drive to complete supplier agreement negotiations in a matrix environment
  • Lead cross-functional governance business review sessions to optimize performance with supplier network partners
  • Develop presentation content, coordinate drafting of reports, and edit documents for preparation of business development activities
  • Prepare metrics for dashboards and monitor supplier performance along with managing action plans to improve metrics
  • Ensure suppliers are compliant with Supply Agreements, aligned with business requirements, and agreements are effective and current

Position Requirements (Required and/or Preferred Skills, Experience and Education):

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Masters Degree/MBA is a plus
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences industry is highly preferred
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in supplier selection, relationship governance, or supply chain management processes highly desirable
  • Critical reasoning skills
  • Strong business sense with negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Sourcing Management and Supplier Governance Relationship concepts and practices
  • Proactive, independent, self-starter personality
  • Collaborative skills in an entrepreneurial, growth organization
  • Completes tasks in a timely manner according to the established schedule
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization
  • Must successfully exhibit Insmed’s five (5) core corporate competencies of: Collaboration, Accountability, Passion, Respect, and Integrity

Salary Range: $111,000 - $156,133 a year
