We are currently seeking a Data Entry Clerk to join our SkinPath Solutions team in Symrna, Georgia! SkinPath Solutions, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, specializes in the diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail disorders of all types. The highly skilled and experienced technologists provide expert evaluation of the biopsy specimen on state of the art equipment, along with clinical correlation in order to arrive at an accurate diagnosis for the clinical healthcare provider.

Responsibilities:

Hours are 8:30am – 5pm, Monday through Friday. Individual must be able to work closely with others in a fast paced, high volume environment, a quick learner, pay close attention to detail, team player and good phone etiquette are required. Must be computer savvy, type 50+WPM, and possess excellent spelling and grammatical skills.

An ideal candidate would have dermatology, medical terminology.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Under moderate supervision, utilize laboratory information systems to accurately register patients & transcribe patient reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Accurately enter patient demographic data, insurance information, referring physician and other necessary billing information into LIS.
  • Performs data entry functions with a minimum error rate as determined by lab protocols, with accession 25-30 requisitions per hour.
  • Print and attach previous history information to requisitions.
  • Deliver completed requisitions to the wet lab slide matching station on an hourly basis.
  • Call physicians offices, insurance carriers, etc. for information not supplied on requisition.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance, including but not limited to: New referral source account set-up, slide requests, report requests, managed care inquiries, and data verification with physician offices (for pre-data and data entry).
  • Interpret specimen site clinical description Vs clinical impression/diagnosis and accurately enter data into LIS.
  • Interpret billing instructions/patient information and enter data.
  • Proofreads reports to ensure accuracy, deletes incorrectly entered data, and re-enters correct data.
  • Attach incoming reports from send outs to requisitions.
  • Responsible for send out log as well as past due slides on the send out log.
  • Determine topography and enter data.
  • Complete necessary IR/QA paperwork and reports
  • Provide backup assistance in reception or other clerical areas as requested.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 1 year of experience in a clerical or data processing position (preferred)
  • Type a minimum of 50-60 WPM with only minor errors. Will be asked to complete a typing assesment as part of the interview process to confirm required skill level is met.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology, client care & safety practices (preferred)
  • Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology (preferred)
  • Data processing and record keeping techniques
