This position reports to
CQE, CI and Quality Manager
Your role and responsibilities
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the Robotics Business.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Support initiatives aimed at productivity improvements, customer experience enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Conduct Value Stream Mapping and Operational Mapping to identify and reduce waste in pro-cesses.
- Collaborate on Lean practices, including 6S, Kaizen, and the development of standard work pro-cesses to minimize excesses.
- Support digitalization efforts by updating SharePoint, automating systems where possible, and contributing to ISO documentation.
- Work with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI, to enhance inventory and operational reporting.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field with an interest in operations or technology leadership roles .
- Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
- Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
- Basic knowledge of Lean principles, 6S, Kaizen, and waste reduction strategies.
- Thinking to become Lean Six Sigma certified
- Understanding of Quality Management systems.
- Familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint, and digital process automation is a plus.
