Sr. Project Manager/Program Manager (SSA)

IT Concepts is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Program Manager who will support several projects or programs at a federal agency. The position is located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail.The candidate is responsible for successfully delivering multiple projects/programs concurrently with an agile mindset. The PM/PGM leads and coordinates a project team’s overall performance while providing the project’s scope on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine, define, and document project scope, milestones, work tasks, dependencies, timelines, and objectives.
- Estimate resources needed to reach objectives and manage resource deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
- Track project costs, including FTE resource utilization, to track success in meeting ROI estimates.
- Develop multiple detailed project schedules and work plans.
- Provide consistent project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, progress, hurdles, and timelines.
- Ensure that stakeholders execute proper contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.
- Monitor progress and adjust the plan as needed.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead communication efforts to ensure stakeholders are having effective meetings, making timely progress, disseminating appropriate information, and training affected parties appropriately.
- Lead escalation efforts when a plan is off track.
- Produce monthly Executive dashboard reports on tracked projects. Communicate challenges, missed deadlines, progress toward a goal, plan deviation or modification, and lessons learned.
- Ensure that projects have appropriate documentation production assigned to the relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the post-mortem report includes rating the project's success or failure and lessons learned.
- As priorities and schedule allow, you may be asked to participate actively in a project.
- Contribute to implementing, anchoring, and enhancing new agile-based project management framework
- Execute projects utilizing an agile-based project management framework and standards
- Manage the project’s overall scope, timeline, budget, resources, communications, risks, issues, key performance indicators, and change management (both project and business)
- Manage multiple projects concurrently
- Provide transparent and accessible tracking and reporting on the project’s status and progress
- Other duties as assigned
Location: This role is remote within the United States, supporting EST working hours.
Requirements- A bachelor's degree in the project management field from an accredited 4-year university
- 5+ years’ experience in Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies
- 5+ years’ experience in Waterfall project methodology
- 5+ years’ experience delivering IT-related projects
- Project Management and Agile certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), are strongly preferred
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong Leadership skills and ability to influence and lead while driving projects to delivery
- Recent experience with any federal government, preferred SSA (Social Security Administration) agency experience.
Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
