About Our Client

Our Client is a leading general contractor specializing in commercial construction projects. Projects range up to $20 million and encompass a variety of sectors including retail, healthcare, education, and office spaces.

Job Description
  • - Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging up to $20 million.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs, develop unit costs, and prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Analyze and interpret historical data, unit costs, and productivity to develop accurate estimates.
  • Manage the bid process including solicitation of subcontractor bids, bid comparisons, and final bid submission.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks and opportunities during the bid phase.
  • Coordinate and lead pre-bid meetings and bid reviews with project teams and clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, including bid documents, take-off data, and cost breakdowns.
  • Prepare and present estimate summaries, bid reviews, and post-bid analyses to senior management.
  • Update and manage estimating software and databases to ensure accurate and current cost information.

The Successful Applicant
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating with a general contractor.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating and bidding projects up to $20 million.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) are a plus.
