Small Group Employee Benefits Account Manager

Our client, a privately held and well-established employee benefits firm located in metro Detroit, is seeking an experienced Small Group Employee Benefits Account Manager.

Position Summary:

The Small Group Employee Benefits Account Manager will oversee a diverse book of business. Clients may include fully insured, partially self-funded, self-insured, and captive arrangements. Working closely with a dedicated account team, the Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring client satisfaction, resolving issues, and supporting client retention.

This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Onboarding: Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition.

Client and Carrier Communication: Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from clients and carriers, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved.

RFP and Census Management: Complete Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and manage census data as needed.

Vendor Renewal Coordination: Initiate vendor renewal requests with Service Representatives and collaborate with agents to negotiate renewal rate relief.

Open Enrollment (OE) Support: Prepare Open Enrollment guides, checklists, forms, summaries, and host webinars. Conduct OE meetings, health fairs, and webinars.

Renewal Meetings: Actively participate in pre-renewal, renewal, and post-renewal meetings, offering insights and recommendations.

Compliance Oversight: Ensure client compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in a group benefits setting, with familiarity in managing a diverse client portfolio.
Licensing: Active Life and Health license or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Brokerage Builder and/or ZyWave software preferred.

Work Environment:

Hybrid schedule available after a 90-day training period (3 days remote, 2 days in-office), or 100% in-office based on preference.

No overnight travel required.
