We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to join our team at HaloMD. HaloMD is a dynamic, hyper-growth Healthcare Technology company that is at the leading edge of leveraging data and analytics.
The Lead Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and managing data infrastructure and pipelines that support the organization's data needs. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to guide a team in building scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.The Lead Data Engineer works closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for various business applications. The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineer with a proven track record in leading complex projects and mentoring a team.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities- Data Architecture and Design:
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Ensure data is optimized for real-time and batch processing, as well as for analytics and machine learning applications.
- Select and integrate appropriate tools and frameworks to optimize data workflows.
- Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store large datasets from multiple sources.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the entire lifecycle.
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipelines to detect and resolve issues in real time.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide data solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to align data solutions with business needs and product roadmaps.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and career growth.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes innovation, learning, and knowledge sharing.
- Data Governance and Security:
- Implement and enforce data governance policies and security standards to protect sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Technology Evaluation and Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies, making recommendations that enhance the team’s capabilities and data infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with data lake / data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and big data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies (e.g., Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Familiarity with database design and modeling concepts, including OLTP and analytical systems and various subject areas
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Fivetran, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data governance, security frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation.
- Experience with machine learning infrastructure and MLOps preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities.
