Human Resources (HR) Manager

We are searching for a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Canton, Massachusetts. The HR Manager will be responsible for managing all human resources practices and procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of HR activities and their alignment with strategic objectives.
The role will involve addressing the unique challenges and dynamics of the construction industry, including workforce diversity, compliance, and project-based staffing.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management- Collaborate with department heads to assess manpower needs and plan workforce allocation for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Manage the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are seamlessly integrated into the company culture.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Mediate disputes and provide resolutions in alignment with company policies and labor laws.
- Organize team-building activities and initiatives to boost employee morale.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including timesheets, certifications, and attendance.
- Oversee payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Develop and update HR policies and handbooks to reflect the needs of the organization and workforce.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Manage contracts, benefits, and other employment agreements.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in construction-related labor laws and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
- Implement performance evaluation systems and provide training to supervisors on conducting appraisals.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate skill-building workshops and certifications.
- Develop career progression plans to retain top talent.
Qualifications
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5-7+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years as a Manager or Team Lead
- Proven experience with labor law and managing large, diverse teams.
- Comfortable being sole HR Employee; responsible for all functions, team of 1
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of construction project cycles and workforce needs.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
