Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to manage the real estate and construction management functions within Atrias Legal Department. You will work directly with the businesss senior leadership, clinical operations, finance, and IT teams, serving as lead counsel on all real estate matters (leasing, project development, and financing) and all construction projects.Atria already has completed $30M+ buildouts of five-star facilities in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida, and is poised for continued expansion into new markets. As part of this growth, you will lead the negotiation of all legal and commercial arrangements to support our existing and new facilities, including working with real estate brokers to structure lease transactions, managing architect, general contractor, and other vendor relationships, providing ongoing legal counsel, and resolving issues that arise in real estate and construction matters.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in a wide variety of leasing and equipment financing transactions, drafting and negotiating real estate and construction contracts, managing the associated procurement and post-procurement processes, and general commercial contracting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Real Estate:
- Work directly with senior leadership team and commercial real estate brokers to structure lease transactions
- Review, draft, and negotiate leases and associated agreements
- Advise on and manage landlord disputes
- Oversee outside real estate and land use counsel
- Construction Project Management:
- Oversee Atrias buildout of new and existing clinical facilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts
- Manage procurement process for construction and project development related services and equipment, including contract drafting and negotiation
- Partner with business teams on construction vendor management
- Advise on and manage contractor disputes
- General:
- Partner with clinical operations and finance teams on equipment financing
- Draft company-wide procurement policies and processes for real estate and project development transactions
- Actively participate as part of Legal Department in supporting Atria on general legal matters, including commercial contracts, healthcare regulatory matters, data security, and compliance

Qualifications:
- JD with 7-10 years of experience
- Progressively increasing responsibility for real estate lease transactions and construction project management
- Extensive experience directly negotiating real estate leases and construction and procurement contracts
- Qualified to practice as in-house counsel in NY
- Healthcare experience a strong plus

Salary: $175,000 - $225,000
