We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Project Manager in the non-profit sector, based in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be leading and driving the project management process, ensuring that project goals are met within budget and time constraints.

You will also be designing and implementing the project management structure for the organization, facilitating the adoption of project management methodology, tools, and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project management process, including the development of project plans, driving the schedule, and managing the project team(s) to meet each milestone.
  • Understand and navigate the project sponsor's expectations, obstacles, changes, and risks to ensure outcomes are delivered.
  • Manage the change control process, keeping projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Design and implement the project management structure for the organization, promoting the adoption of project management methodology, tools, and processes.
  • Facilitate the creation of project plans and budgets by gathering resource requirements from the project sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Actively manage the master project portfolio, incorporating all project plans and reporting to stakeholders on project statuses regularly.
  • Drive the risk management process by identifying and communicating project risks, tracking and managing risk solutions or contingency plans.
  • Facilitate communication and negotiations with project team members, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Coordinate tasks between internal and external team resources.
  • Provide advice and guidance on effectively implementing new process flows, validate compliance with new processes, undertake milestone reviews, monitor compliance, and recommend process improvement to department leads.
  • Ensure closure of all administrative systems when a project is closed, including invoice and documentation management.
  • Monitor project management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including staff satisfaction, quality indicators, timelines, and budgets.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Project Management role within a non-profit setting
  • Proficient knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with 'About Time' project management tools preferred
  • Proven track record in Agile Scrum methodology
  • Demonstrated understanding of budget processes within a non-profit context
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in using Smartsheet for project management preferred
  • Ability to identify and manage key deliverables
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and experience in KPI reporting
  • Proven ability to manage timelines effectively
  • Experience in developing and managing project plans
  • Solid background in project planning across various project phases
  • Able to develop comprehensive project plans that meet organizational objectives.
