Property Accountant

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that revolve around the financial and accounting operations of our property development ventures.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the preparation of CAM reconciliations for retail tenants in shopping centers.
• Generate financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Produce financial statements, detailed variance analysis, and general ledger account reconciliation for individual entities.
• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, manage accounts payable, payroll, and cash.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documents for all the entities.
• Track and maintain invoices, ensuring approvals and matching them to the PO system.
• Reconcile year-end payroll tax reports and review/issue W2’s.
• Assist in implementing and enforcing internal controls and accounting system enhancements.
• Gather information for year-end to be provided to our public accountants.
• Utilize accounting software systems and Yardi Software for various accounting functions.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Property Accounting principles and practices
• Ability to perform all essential Accounting Functions
• Experience with Yardi Software is preferred
• Ability to handle Month-end Close Activities
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
• Strong Leadership Skills are essential
